Dear Friend, We are dentists, but, like everyone else, our teeth need regular care to preserve them and make them as attractive as possible. So, just like everyone else, we go to the dentist to receive many of the procedures we deliver to our patients. When we sat down to write goals for our practice, it occurred to us that the kind of dentistry we want to give to our patients was exactly the kind of dentistry we wanted to receive. And we can assure you that we would hold our dentist to some pretty high standards. We would want our dentist to see us as individuals, to know us personally and not merely treat us as a chart number or 'the next patient'. We would want our dentist to foster this relationship by knowing what is important to us and respecting us as a person. And we wouldn't want to be taken for granted, even years into the relaitonship. Although we are probably as brave as the next person, we'd prefer, naturally, not to experience discomfort during our dental visit. We would want our dentist to have genuine concern for our comfort before, during, and after our treatment. We would want our dentist to have thouroughly mastered, to the extent possible, pain-free dental technique. Maybe we are spoiled, but we get annoyed if we have to do too much waiting. We'd much prefer if our dentist and staff were ready for us when we arrived, and would really like it if we were the only patients there, so the doctor and staff could give us their full attention. We are sticklers for quality. We are even willing to pay a little more if we are receiving top-of-the-line treatment. These teeth are the only ones we'll ever have, so we wouldn't choose our dentist because his or her fees were the lowest. We would choose a dentist who could provide us with the highest level of care, which is what we feel we deserve. We would appreciate someone who is painstakingly accurate in all the details of our treatment. So what we want as a dental patient is what we now offer you, because the result of this kind of treatment is our true goal: optimal dental health and appearance. If you want this kind of care, we would be happy to be your dentist. Sincerely, Rick Tananis Thomas Bachstein Linda Raskansky |
